Saints Row 4 has a gun that causes inflation. It's called the inflator ray and it's a blast to use ^^

So in Dead Rising 3 you can build a vehicle called the Party Slapper, and in it you can suck with the car's mouth zombies and they will come out inflated, afterly popping. Here's a gameplay, that vehicle appears very early on the video. Starts at 3:19 aprox.

The zombies just look like vaguely roundish shaped piles of garbage...and it's so dark that I can barely see anything...

I remember a boss battle in Warioworld for the Gamecube. One of his attacks is lifting Wario to face him, and forcing air into him. He floats around the stage for a bit. :) Unfortunately you have to cut it short before he floats into the spikes at the edges O.o I definitely want to get Scribblenauts Unmasked now. I thought about it before. But definitely saving up now <3

so... a new update to minecraft lets you blow up creepers(exploding enemies) by clicking on them with a flint-and-steel, plus you can easily modify the explosion file to fit your tastes.

just create a flat world in creative mode and you can fly around blowing up creepers all day.

they are essentially walking green penii, but i thought id share.

"...he can inflate, just like a ba-loon! This crazy Kong just digs this tune, HUAH!"

-DK rap, Donkey Kong 64

(The song references to a character called Lanky Kong from Donkey Kong 64 (for the Nintendo 64). He has the ability to inflate like a balloon to reach certain places in the game.)

So the new Just Cause 3 has a handgun that shoots helium darts. Only down side is when you shoot someone with it, just their head inflates.

Its pretty blah but it is something.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.

For anyone that played Fat Princess on PSN, they made a sequal.

Fat Princess adventures. As per cannon, the cake and inflating/fattening up of the Princess is still there, as well as other inflation scenes/situations.

- This time your character (male/female) can eat the cake and enter Fat mode by inflating up in their underwear.

- The red Princess and blue Princess return, only this time the Blue Princess is the only one who follows you. She will eat cake peices dropped by enemies/chests and if she eats enough, she enters "Fat mode". Disappointingly there seems to be only 2 stages of growth this time around.

- There is an enemy you meet later in game that upon hitting begins to spark like a bomb. If hit again, they inflate larger and larger before popping and damaging everything around them. It is disappointing but the enemies don't really have a gender and just look like human shaped figures.

- There is a boss that is a chef that inflates larger the more you hit him. Unfortunately it is male inflating but beating him, he inflates until he pops and sends cream all over the room.

- Each weapon has a certain element that causes effects to enemies. (Fire, Shock, Ice, Poinson, etc) but there are more rare weapons with more rare effects. One weapon set is called Balloon. I don't know if it actually inflates enemies as it was a pre-order bonus so it has not be released yet.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.

Thanks for telling! This IS a big thing

A real game studio making a real game with inflation. It's an entirely next level. I think it's an event of MK2 magnitude for community ^_^

While regarding inflation in video games, or a lack thereof in this case. I feel it's necessary to bring up Mortal Kombat X for a moment. This is obviously just going to come across as a rant, but this need's to be said, and this is the place to do it.

In MKX, fighters are decapitated, immolated, crushed flat, skinned, and horribly mulitated in a number of ways in general. You would think that given all of the variety of finishers in MKX that they would alteast find room to throw in one inflation fatality/brutality. The golden opportunity to add one was with Klassic Fatalities 2, obviously referring to Kitana's Kiss of Death which is now officially defunct.

Instead, we recieved another run-of-the-mill, uninteresting beheading. In a game where decapitation's are a dime a dozen, with a character that already has two brutalities featuring such. They completely disregarded her most popular signature klassic, for a bland decapitation. Mileena, Kung Lao, and Jax got their best. Kitana was given her worst. It's blatantly obvious they singled her out.

Before Mortal Kombat X released, I actually thought it would be possible for a newcomer like D'Vorah to have a brutality where she use's her ovipositors to sting her opponent mutliple times, eventually causing them to swell up and explode. Of course, that obviously wasn't going to happen.

It's even worse when you play the mobile port, and you find out there is a support kard for her titled "Kiss of Death".

"Hey, we have some Klassic Fatalities coming up, remember this one?"

http://www.deviantart.com/art/Mortal-Kombat-X-iOS-Kitana-Support-560905354

*Later on, Klassic Fatalities 2 is revealed*

"lulj/k!!! We had a decapitation planned instead!"

I'm pretty sure Ed Boon stated before that it was his favorite fatality from MK2, and yet he and NetherRealm Studios tossed it aside for something so much worse. I'm certain I know the real reason why.

NetherRealm Studios trying to take the series down a much darker and edgier route than previous titles. As such, they don't want to be associated with making any sort of fetish fuel at all. Zip, zilch, nada, nothing. Super serious from here on. Fatalities or Brutalities featuring any sort of humor, no matter how light, are to be kept to a bare minimum. NO FUN ALLOWED.

Looking back at MK9 now, I think it was pure dumb luck that we even got Rain's Bubble Burst fatality. That it was included because it was a spur of the moment idea, not because they needed something to replace the Kiss of Death.

You can't always get what you want, but even then, I don't think were ever going to get another inflation fatality/brutality again. All good things have to end sometime, and if anything, MK9 was the last hurrah. If they couldn't even include one in MKX, in spite of the huge variety of the fatalities and brutalities, than that tells you something. Especially since they deliberately shafted Kitana.

It would be a good idea not to get your hopes up when Mortal Kombat 11 comes around. You would be saving yourself from being let down time and time again.

I'm afraid to say this folks, but I think the best days are behind us. :(

I'm with you, inflation should return to MK.

"Super serious from here on. ... Fatalities or Brutalities featuring any sort of humor, no matter how light, are to be kept to a bare minimum. NO FUN ALLOWED."

I've seen recent MK on one of those free-to-play stands where consoles advertise to sell. By "bare minimum" you probably mean that fighters in MKX have billions of ribs, dozens of skulls and oceans of blood? You look at their bodies and think - goodness me, where did they hide THAT? ^_^

I'd say fantasy inflation is more realistic than "super seriousness" of MK.

darth_clone19

Itd be hillarious if the developers actually come here, and decide to not include inflatalities just laugh at us.

Characters in Mortal Kombat X don't explode into an absurd shower of skulls, rib cages, and limbs. That was MK3/UMK3.

I just cannot believe NRS chose to leave us out in the cold. Seeing the direction the series is heading, it looks like we're going to be left out for good.

I don't even like NetherRealm but that is a pretty entitled attitude to have.

I think it's just more exaggeration than anything. But your right, it's a game company and we don't really get to choose if something has inflation in it or not, nor can we act like we deserve it.

Yeah, I don't have time to play games and don't know much about them...

What's UMK? Uninflated Mortal Combat?

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. It was released back in '95 as an updated version of Mortal Kombat 3. It featured extra characters and stages, hence the name "Ultimate".

I didn't intend to come across as an entitled jerk, but I can see you mean when reflecting on it. I appreciate you pointing that out, it help's bring me back down to earth.

I just had to blow off some steam, got carried away in my disappointment, and made an ass of myself.

We've had a few users on here who legitimately acted like we deserve certain inflation things in media, and got really upset when things changed. Blue_Eyes has been on here for a while and I imagine she's seen her share of those users. That being said wording is important and when you say "you cannot believe" you risk sounding like those users. Just something to keep in mind for next time :)

I understand what you're saying.

I also just want to clarify, I'm a fan of the MK series without regards to inflation fetishism. There's more to the series than the occasional inclusion of some taboo fetish. It just happens to be an pleasant bonus.

When MKX dropped last April, the game obviously didn't include any inflation based finishing moves. I was hopeful that NRS would pull through like the did with Rain at the end of MK9's DLC run, and a number of other previous MK titles. So I kept my fingers crossed.

When I learned about the Klassic Fatality packs, I figured the Kiss of Death was a given. It's a popular fatality, even Ed said it was his favorite in MK2. So when Klassic Fatalities 2 was revealed, I was shocked to see that, in spite of Kitana's inclusion, it was just her decapitation fatality. It was disappointing, but I knew they weren't done with the DLC. They could do more Klassic Fatality packs and another Kombat Pack. So I continued to keep my fingers crossed.

Time passes, Kombat Pack 2 was revealed. It's the last DLC pack for the game. The line up was less than stellar. Not what most people were expecting. Some of the fatalities were shown, none of the characters it have an inflation based finisher. No Klassic Fatalities 3 or 4. New brutalities were said to be included, but at this point it was hopeless.

I spent nearly two years, since the first announcement in June of 2014, keeping my hopes up. A long wait, just for everything so come crashing down. So when I discovered this place and this thread, I decided to vent a little.

Obviously, I made the mistake of getting my expectation's up and it came back to get me. If it has taught me anything, I need to keep the pretty damn low from now on. When I was creating my original post, I was letting nearly two years worth of disillusionment out. Which is why I came across as an entitled ass.

I apologize for my second wall of text, just wanted to clear that up, a little extra insight never hurt's.

Well, there's something you can actually do (maybe already did).

You can write to them. To either Midway or that other company involved. You can tell them that you love the "inflating" fatalities. It must be polite.
That doesn't guarantee anything but at least you let them know what one fan wants. And who knows, maybe other fans did the same, and your message adds up to the other messages about the "inflatalities", and that might increase the chance of they deciding to include it in other future games.

Just your 2 cents.

I actually made a game for the Ludum Dare 27 (2013) that had an enemy that inflates when you land on it, and pops after a few seconds. They were used for really evil platforming sections where you had to land on another one below you over a pit of spikes. Twas fun! If you wanna check it out you can do so here.

Street Fighter 5 has a new albeit another disappointing male inflation.

Dhalsim returns again in this installment and his Ultra has him inhaling a large amount of fire. He gets a big round belly before shooting it out of his mouth towards his opponent.

Well, it's not much and I'm not sure if it has been mentioned before, but this came up in my recommended videos. This game is called Time Tenshi, and by the looks its a hentai-ish or at least a big bust anime date sim/visual novel. The linked video has some BE(albeit in just the form of one character art transititioning into another) brought on by what looks to be time travel. While the player's voice doesn't really do it any justice, the writing is decent.

The scene leading up to it is at 10:15

It's something!

Life is always a bit better once you pop a few buttons.

I don't get it, why is it that games that have some sort of inflation gun always inflate the head? Like, doesn't the body seem like the most sensible thing to blow up?

(Not on here too often, replies might be slow.)

PartymanX
PartymanX's picture

The Inflato-Ray suffers from long recharge times and is useless until the gun recharges enough, and also needs the extra time to recharge longer so the Inflato-Ray can fully inflate enemies for the kill, as simply hitting the enemy for a short period will only stun then and leave them to deflate and recover. The inflation is not all that great looking.
