So is it just me, or with the new front that EM is moving is anybody else thinking this is just the first step to make it a pay site, 10 bucks says it's going to be hosted by BE Archive. Like butter.........discuss.

Don't think so, Bambi must make enough money through advertising her pay sites on the EM to support it so I can't see why she'd let it go into the BEA.

I would assume that there might be a possibility that Stormr may lose what control he had over the site, or the url may be www.expansionmansion.com, but I doubt it'll go pay.
I hope that doesn't happen, however, as that is how I know the site: Stormrszone. I know it's Bambi's now, but isn't that the draw for the site? I know, though, that she has good intents, and she's doing everything she can to please a wide variety of members.

i've kinda grown a dislike to the BEA, i think it should be free bar certain material... BEA are all money and not freindly enough...
that and i'm a cheapskate...
the mansion rocks, mainly coz it's free!
PS: i think that Blaze is pretty gd at what she does...

Well it's not that easy, internet bandwidth isn't cheap, and someone has to pay for it. In the case of this site Luther owns the servers, pays for the bandwith, maintains the site and we all enjoy the fruits of all that for free which is quite incredible; but not everyone can afford to pay for something, invest quantities of their time in it and then give it away for free. In Bambi's case she runs a few pay-sites and then allows us free access to EM as she can use it to advertise, in the case of the paysites, the BEA and everything that went behind it such as Inflate123's video vault, the original site owner couldn't afford to keep giving to the community, so either; folded, let the BEA take over, or set up as an independent pay-site. We can't really blame them for that, but that's the way the internet is. You give for free, you are taken for granted, then you run out of money or time and have to stop giving so generously, then everyone turns on you and accuses you of being a sell-out. que sera.

Personally i'd rather let my site go to the wayside and maybe provide files to some people who ask nicely then give it over to the quote unquote "man", but i'm kinda evil like that, buck the system man.

Bandwidth costs a LOT of money. All sites cannot be free. If you want reliability or quality content, you're going to have to pay for it.
This is also why grocery store bread is generally tastier than the stuff you find in the dumpster. You are getting what you pay for.

Whatever happens happens. Like Carnatic, dragon 6860, and Inflate123 have said internet establishments are expencive and if Bambi deems it nessisary to begin charging admission to EM we should accept that.
This talk of dumpster food get's me thinking. What all douse go into a server anyway? and how do the computers used reflect on the sites they support?

And joining either or both of their other other current pay sites will probably help keep it there.
Over 9 GB of content according to the update. I strongly believe this community needs and could support at least one premium pay site as a central hub that can also host a large amount of content/bandwidth.
Maybe $5 a month since contibutors provide the content, with free membership for anyone who is a member of either or both the other current pay sites.
Having a large free area with any adult and otherwise deemed premium content behind a pay wall would also help with keeping those that are underage away from such content.
There's something of a lack of even moderate adult themes and vision (that I'm seeing) in the expansion fetish arena, which is a shame for adults who are comfortable enough with this subject matter to admit to ourselves that it is primarily about sexual titillation to a large (or the whole) extent.
I'm sure a lot of artists would create more raunchy stuff if it could be hosted in an appropriate manner, and in line with other sites like this one I feel it could coexist quite happily while also bringing benefits to the community as a whole.
