Its pathetic when people mock things they don't understand or dont want to understand. I mean, I was not hurting anyone by me putting the videos up there for fellow inflationists to appreciate. Now I start getting hundreds of abusive emails and comments from people that would have never found the videos unless they were interested in the topic and typed 'body inflation' into the search engine.
Its a sad, sad world.....

I had actually selected that option RubberKat but if you see the show I don't think they know the meaning of the term 'Journalistic Integrity'. They broadcast it knowing full well that the producer of the video is in another country and involves a subject that the producer is likly not to persue in their own or another country.

But really, we've had way worse shit thrown at us for our fetish over the years. There was a video on youtube mentioned here fairly recently where the guy showed QuantumFX's clips and tore us apart for it. There's a topic going on right now, "should we respond?" I believe it's called; where the guy goes on for like five pages about us.

"I don't get how anyone could find this attractive" - followed immediately by a joke where she pretends to be aroused by it herself - is hardly the worst thing we've seen. And honestly, what the hell do you expect them to say on television? They're personas based around being snarky; it's not the Peace Love And Acceptance hour. It's like getting mocked by Triumph The Insult Comic Dog.

Yes, I understand and respect your point Caffiene, about other people being worse. There are some individuals out there that use YouTube to 'throw shit' as you put it. I want to make myself clear. What upsets me is not so much that they are throwing shit, it is that they are doing it in such a public platform as TV. People that watch this show are being presented with my video in a setting where they do not share the same views as the maker of the video. This show has even linked my YouTube profile to its web site making it extremely easy for viewers to access my work.
I agree with you that people have the right to make YouTube videos criticizing our fetish, but people watching those videos and those opinions are only presented with it once they type in the search words in YouTube. There is a difference between searching for someoneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s opinion and it being broadcast on TV to the wider community for the purpose of ridicule.
In regards to being 'mocked by Triumph The Insult Comic Dog' I feel that this may be an over simplification. The very fact that these comments are broadcast on TV, in some uneducated minds, gives these views credibility, more so than a YouTube opinion from one individual.

I have to say, what a horrible thing to do to someone. But then again guy, if you were worried about it, shouldn't have shown your face. Not getting on your case, but they make those hoods for a reason.

But I don't blame them for actually airing the clips, all it is really doing in my opinion is exposing people to such things. It's not that they just single us out, but you have to admit, it is a topic to be discussed. I gaurantee that it is still a topic someone is thinking about or has already done something of this sort since they aired this.

The silver lining is it's opened our world up to others and maybe some of them may discover they share the fetish. Remember how alone most of used to feel before we found places such as this site? I only wish the presenters inflated something more exciting than gloves!

Privacy on the internet is hard, there will always be hackers and sometimes it's hard to prove copyright. They shouldn't have used your work without contacting you first. Perhaps people could try and put a title at the end of the video mentioning than they maintain the copyright and it shouldn't be reused without permission?

Yeah, I think that a video gallery on this site would be a good idea. That way all of our videos wouldn't be open to public like on youtube and we wouldn't have to worry about being judged by some xenophobes.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for all the feedback. Please know that I'm not advocating that we all remove our videos from YouTube. That would be taking a backward step and reinforce the content of some of the comments I recieved on YouTube. I only removed mine due to the volume of vitriol I was recieveing and the fact that the show saw it fit to blur out the 'superman symbol' on my chest but not blur out my face.......
I guess they were more worried about a law suit from DC Comics for copyright infringement than broadcasting the identity of an inflationist.
A solution to all our problems would be to get sponsorship from companies for our future inflation videos. I for one, will he wearing a Starbucks Coffee logo over my face in the future knowing that the logo, hence my identity will be obscured if its used on TV again......lol
Please don't remove your videos unless you are concerned that it being broadcast may identify you.
When I made the videos I foolishly thought that the majority of people watching it would find it though 'active searching' and not just stumble over it. As a result, I thought that hiding my face from fellow inflation friends would not be necessary. Needless to say, i was wrong.

I was a little skeptical about having my face visible in some of my videos but left them as they were because I'm very comfortable with what I'm doing.

I still have a small fear that somebody I know will see one and think "Hey that looks like...", but to be completely honest I don't think I'd care until the moment actually comes. From there explaining would be the way forward. I wouldn't expect it to be accepted, but it'd be worth a shot.

It makes me angry that they couldn't at least have the decency to blur your face out to save all of the hate and embarrassment that you've received...
The only reason I haven't blurred my own face in my videos is because I'm too lazy to go back and edit them all again I guess. ^_^;

What I wouldn't give to go slap those two presenters and the shows producers with a great big wet fish...

I suppose I was oversimplifying a bit; but I find it's easier to look at things if you simplify them as much as possible. For example: G4 showed your video on television, and a bunch of haters popped up. That's what the issue is.

What I was trying to say was that I don't think their criticism on the show was particularly insulting or bigoted or anything, it's stupid TV patter meant to be snarky. The deluge of morons on Youtube was, I'm sure, a different story.

All I was really trying to do was make sure this thread flowed in what I feel is the more important direction: the issues raised by their showing your youtube video on TV. I didn't want to see it turn into "they made fun of us boo-hoo". Fortunately things seem to be going the "right way", so I probably didn't need to say anything at all.

And I'm with Swella; if they were going to make a bit out of mocking us, couldn't they have at least given Olivia some kind of full-body suit?

I was 'outed' about 10 years back, but most people couldn't care less what the other guy gets turned on by, and those that do are small-minded. Small-minded people are normally full of piss and wind too, so their word counts for less.

Regarding YouTube:

Why not setup an inflation 'supergroup' and stick all the videos on there under that. Put up disclaimers and copyright notices everywhere and have it moderated by a single account. That way contributers get their anonymity, plus we'd have more collective clout if somebody tries to use a video in the way that G4 does.

There are a number of people posting inflation vids on YouTube and they might be interested in such and approach too. A way of bringing the community together if you like.

Good idea there. Why not? I use warnings on my stories (always found on top of the stories) so I can make Anti-Inflationists look like protesters on a very pointless crusade about which hamburger is better.

I really think they went after you in particular because of the Superman suit. It was rather silly, but I can understand in your position that's all you may have had or you just liked the Superman get-up.

I wish they would have played a video of a cute woman inflating in the same manner. It may have swayed some of the vewiers results istead of most of them going on the offensive.

Sorry you ended up going through that, luvtoinflate. I thought your videos were fantastic. Looking on the bright side, maybe this is the first step on a long road to acceptance. I think it'd be good if this whole thing was out in the open and people were OK with it, though i can understand why some people would rather it stayed underground. It's hard to know how "out" to be about this stuff because it isn't generally the kind of thing that comes up in everyday conversation.

I heard that some YouTube users use code words to hide videos from unwanted attention. Maybe that could be done with this sort of thing? Then there could still be stuff up there but it would be harder for unsympathetic people to find.

It really is horrible that they did that to you. I never had much respect for that network, but now I have none what so ever. It also sucks that I had just worked up the courage to upload my first vid, and then came and saw this whole fiasco. All I can say is hopefully it will let some closet inflationists know that there are others like them. If we get one more member to join our community, then at least some good came out of it, ya know?

Mabye Myspace is the new answer? They have a vid uploading feature, and with that you can pick and choose your friends and who gets to see it.

YouTube has a content policy. If your stuff doesn't meet the content policy guidelines, it's removed. That doesn't make them xenophobic or moronic. It makes you look immature and ignorant of how the world works.

The thing about YouTube is that each person chooses how much they want to share. If you don't want attention, don't upload videos. I'm very sorry they mocked you, and I like your vids, but if you put yourself out there, it should be obvious that you can never control the reactions. The world watches YouTube. If you don't want to be seen by the world, don't post content there.
