The reasons are simple. Their moderators are fickle and inconsistant with their enforcement, and they rather would delete work THEY deem offensive and ban those that speak up over their sketchy guidelines.

Bleedman and Sirkowski are two artists I know, and they recently got banned in one of their little sprees. I'm sick and tired of dA stepping on the toes of the very community that supports it.

So, I'm idling my account silently there. I'll still check out my friends I have from here that have alive accounts there at dA, but from here on, anything that would fit better here goes here.

Thing is, Bleedman and Sirkowski were paid customers. I found their treatment to be horrible, and this has been an issue with dA since the recent changes in their boardroom.

Bleedman was not banned. He was suspended for 24 hours because someone reported that he called someone a "bitch" after they degraded his work and called him a Nazi sympathizer because he is making references to Nazism in his latest comics.

Sirkowski, though, is unexcusable. Totally wrong.

I dont blame you. The only reason I have a account there to check out other peoples work. I cant post anything Ive made personally because everything Ive made is either a morphed pic of someone elses photograph (copyright infringement, in their book) or too 'adult' for their moderators taste.

This page started it all with the poster of Hitler in the background. Jokingly, Bleedman made an alternate page for the complainers which replaced it with a poster of President Bush. None of this had to do with his suspension but of course everyone has to play nice on the internet or it'll get you suspended.

I don't really see any problem with both bans.

Bleedman got temp banned for breaking the 'play nice' rule.

Sirkowski got temp-banned for bad mouthing the 'super-admin' who happens to be the site's sponser. Pissing off an admin/financial supporter is just ASKING for a ban. His works got deleted cause they were sexual themed materials which are against DA policy.

Well, it's all of the politics that gets to me. I know Sirk likes brinking the rules, and I know Bleedman to be a nice guy. But reallly.... Why the drama?

I'm tired of dA's dramas I guess, more than being angry at one certain event.

Actually, from what ive read in both DA pages, Bleed mans and sirk, and I agree with em fully. I mean, DA is playing very unfairly to already established deviants. I mean, I dont give a fuck if the person is an administrator, if you have to tell em to fuck off, even if it gets you banned, well, tell em to fuck off. The argument is that theres an admin who bans people for sexual content yet HER DA is full of groping breasts and pornography disguised as taste. Get the hell out with that, I say LOL. Thats just wrong. Unbelievable.

I havn't been there long, but I constantly see the whole "copyright" bullshit all over many art sites. I'd be damned happy if someone liked my work and wanted to show it off. I've seen people ho don't want to send files to me on MSN because they are afraid the artists will get angry...and alot of em lurk here *glares around the room*

It's pretty simple. It's the admins site, it's the admins rules. Site policies are guidelines, not laws, if you feel a mod is being impartial, ask the admin for a second opinion. If the admin says something goes, it does. They can play favorites or be unfair in your eyes but that's too bad. "Is the deviation done in good taste?" is left up to the mods/admins taste and not the users. And in the end a paid account only entitles user to extra perks promised for subscribers, not unbannable accounts.

It's a sad truth but that's how it goes. If you want the privalege of nearly free bandwidth to host all the images you want, ect, you have to put up with the house rules and sometimes dickhead landlords. Not a bad trade if you ask me you just gotta rember to tread lightly.

I must be living under a rock, but what're you all talking about Drama? People get banned, and usually it's for a good reason. I've had 2 of my works taken down, and while I don't agree with the fact they singled me out and removed my work, I understand WHY they did it.

Perhaps I just don't go out into DA very much to notice all this "drama" as everyone puts it... But in my view, if you're not gonna play by the rules, then tough luck @_@ No one said that DA was a FREE DO WHAT YOU WANT place, though people seem to think that all the time.

The fact is that if you have rules and you actually ban people from a site, yet your admins are posting things others would get banned for, whatever people have to say the are in their right to do so. Its not that they dont play by the rules, is that not even the admins follow them, and all of a sudden, what was good yesterday, today is banned. Thats unfair, and people should spam and flame all they want.

Well, I've decided since I still have friends there, I should try to stick around. I've let some personal things color my decisions as of late.

But don't be suprised if I change up my material a bit there. I don't want to end up having to deal with bans.
