2005 Violet B. Discuss

I've been thinking about the 2005 Violet scene a lot lately, it is my favorite inflation thing just overall. If there's anyone that wants to share, discuss, or even light rp about it, I'd be happy to be dm'd. Or y'all can even reply to here talking about your experience with the enormous berry girl.

I think we’re in the minority, but I liked the 2005 scene a lot more than the original.  Better special effects, the way her body transforms, a size that more suits my preference, the rolling/bouncing on top of her, and the little attention to details (belly button still visible, her middle bulging between her clothes, the way she squishes when the loompas bounce on top of her)... it’s all great.

I think I am in this minority. I like the 2005 more mostly because of the size/shape. To me the original one looks more like an oval while the 2005 one is more of a sphere. Plus the overall swelling and how big she got.

The rounder the better

The sound design does it all for me. Her transformation sounds so massive and heavy from beginning to end. Even when her mother gives her the last push at the end of the scene you can hear her all sloshing and rumbling... The music is great, also; The "something really bad is happening" type of music with the string crescendo. It really does feel like the instrumentation is "swelling up" just like Violet.. Really adequate if you ask me!

I can't say I like one more than the other. They BOTH have their pluses. The 1971 is no cgi and she is actually rolled around. The 2005 version has her grow to very large and round proportions. Even when she is not being rolled around helplessly her feet dont even reach the ground.

New version was a bit too dark and I never liked what they did with the cheeks. It robbed her of any real expressions and just looked creepy. Otherwise incredible. Would love to see some big budget attempt with today's technology.

Curious if anyone's found any deepfakes for either version.

What sort of deepfakes?

Face-swaps with any number of adult actresses would be interesting.

I've seen a handful here and there, but nothing too high quality.

I personally think it's a much better improvement over the orginal. I know people have a soft spot fo rthe orginal. A lot of peoples "first" experience, so to speak. But the 2005 version is jsut better. Looks better. Much bigger size. The minor sloshing sounds are a nice touch. But that's just my opinion.

i agree with Clovis. tim burton made it too dark of a scene. i really didnt like how they made her face/cheeks blow up. she appeared "stuck" and unable to facially react to whats happening to her. plus she ended up looking similar to someone i know.. other than that, the size and shape were perfect.

my biggest let down to the 2005 scene is knowing that that they tried multiple attempts to use real props, suits, etc... but then scrapped the whole thing to make it all CGI. i'm a huge fan of production companies using real suits and props, which is why i will always like the 1971 scene better. but i am still glad to know they TRIED using real props in the first place.

Funny how different people's perceptions can be.  The original flick introduced actual danger by mentioning the possibility of Violet popping, yet some find the remake darker when there is no mention of popping risk at all.

To clarify, by darker I meant the lighting.

Ha!  That's fair.  For anyone that's interested, a few months ago I made a Violet-only edit that is brightened as much as it can be without overexposing anything.  Here's the link:

agreed. the lighting in that movie was much too dark, although its something tim burton is famous for in his films.

I always liked it, and for one prefer the remake version. Was happily reminded of it by my girlfriend a few weeks ago; she had a girl night out and really went for the dessert as it was her birthday. When she came back she had tummy ache and I had to rub her stuffed tummy. Ast one point she complained that was so full she felt like "that girl from Charlie and the Chocolate factory"...

As you guys can imagine I was quite aroused ;)

I like the original better, but there were some things in the 2005 version I liked more. I love her desperation in the 2005 scene and how the mom connected that her life would forever be different. In that way, it was more thought provoking, but the original felt more realistic (even though it isn't realistic). She was way too big in the 2005 version. Every aspect of her was huge and it made it too far fetched for me.
