Ok man I've been doing some thinking and have some more suggestions for where to store energy-
-Nipples
-Knees and/or elbows
-Earlobes
-Hair (though this might be considered derivative of Samson and Delilah)
-Ovaries

Not likely. Hair is a maybe, but the others no. The energy is in massive quantities at times so something so internal wouldn't work without harm

The logical solution would be to temporarily switch internal and externals
For instance, look at your navel - it's an innie with a small knot. And when you were born and energy cabling was in place - it was an outie. Maybe they gently turn us insideout to tie that knot? ^_^
