I've been experiencing an issue with the spam filter very recently when attempting to post messages on other sections of the forum. Sometimes the verification comes up, but the image appears to be broken, and the 'verify by audio' option doesnt give me any sort of sound (I've checked; my browser is playing audio other places just fine).
I'm also getting this error however:
"The spam filter installed on this site is currently unavailable. Per site policy, we are unable to accept new submissions until that problem is resolved. Please try resubmitting the form in a couple of minutes."
Is anyone else coming across this same error?
I've never seen it, but it sounds like you're trying to post when the spam filter is offline. I use a thrid-party service called Mollom. I have it configured so that if the site can't reach Mollom's servers, it rejects all submissions. Otherwise the site gets flooded with spam. Mollom once went offline for a couple of hours, and I wound up with over three hundred spam posts to sort through.
Please let me know if you continue to have the problem. That goes for everyone. If this is a serious problem, then I'll have to look into other filter solutions.
