Thanks, I'd like to do more of this kind of thing. Starting out messing about with the basic concept with the inflating letters and the sound effects (I think that with a cork and an empty wine bottle I can create more of a hollow *bwoomp* sound) I can't remember where I got the sound effects in this clip but they weren't mine. I created the sound by combining a balloon squeeking with a cushion being dropped on a wooden floor.
I can try more interesting materials than the shiny plastic, (although I have used this website's own colours to create that ident and would want to continue to use this colour scheme) and I'm wanting to create a low-poly female model and do the same to her. I want to create in 3D CG something that matches my own style of drawing. There are a lot of talented 3D artists out there so I don't want to be just yet another who goes down the route of recreating film-type sets using photorealistic textures and anatomically precise modelling.
Also low-poly works better with the inflation technique I'm experimenting with here. Too high a polygon density and the inflation becomes 'bumpier', not to mention slow processing times.

Ugh...like this deviant little corner of the internet is going to wake up suddenly and start wearing suits and ties. Although...we do have a whole lot of stories and pictures that take place in a corporate environment. Those selfsame stories and pics tend strongly to gloss over the recruitment aspect of the company and leap quickly to the pneumatic though...
