Collaborative Creation

Hai hai. Just popping into to give my two cents and some thoughts and the like.

I'm a long time fan of inflation, expansion, and growth of all kinds and causes. I don't really have any preferences and am open to virtually anything. It's good to be positive. I am not really a creator, but I guess I want to try to be? Something like that.

Anyway, I've had a thought. One I hope to nurture for the foreseeable future.

I think that it could be a fun and potentially long lasting project to bring together people's interests and ideas to create a world or universe of fetish stories and occurences. Where there is an actual "canon" and set of rules I guess.

I'm picturing roleplays set in the world, locations, and relationships being written. Maybe art given or commissioned for it. Essentially a big community "game" to play.

I'm not sure how it will work out in the long run, but I think it's always fun to try!

I suppose the first step is setting up the "big picture" and letting the details trickle down and fill out. Setting the rules of the setting and deciding what could be the focus if there even needs to be one. I personally feel that no "growth" fetish should be excluded. That air/liquid inflation is possible, alongside immense pregnancies, giant growth, blueberries, and any other combination of growths. And while just letting any kind of causes be present makes sense, I like the idea of there being an overarching theme or influence. Like a large amount originate from a chemical company or sex industry. No discrimination between male or female expansion, though based on all the work already created women would be more common I guess. Popping is a very real danger, and can be prevented but not necessarily reversed. I think that the average person can't really expand, but with some tinkering or magic any person could become expandable.

So, while it's very vague I guess I have a quick list.

- Anyone can become expandable by many causes.

- There are numerous causes of expansion.

- Women and men can expand.

- Popping is a potential "end" to a character.

- Expanded or huge forms is the epitome of "attractive."

And more ideas will hopefully be added as time goes on.

On a smaller scale, I think that developing a city would make the most sense. A sort of "home base" to spring step the world as a whole. I couldn't decide which continent to set it in, but that doesn't need to be decided yet. But a large city, akin to Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, or Sidney. It would be the home to characters and possibly the base of expansion research and development companies. Of course, individual city sections could be developed and explored.

When it comes to characters, I think it's important to have multiple characters to explore the world, preferably as unique as possible. I'm not sure how "silly" the world will end up being, but I like the idea of them all being human in even the vaguest definition. Expansion celebrities could always be in the background, either for sheer size, beauty, or talent. Maybe, with enough work some characters could even become "public domain."

When it comes to the actual stories... I have no idea. Probably just roleplays and vignettes that interrelate to one another. Romances and trysts between characters, one night stands, long term relationships could be the focus. On another scale, perhaps more action focused stories that explore the potential abuse of expansion causes. But the goal is crossing over works, so one story may happen in the background of another, or a big event be referenced in the media.

I really love the community aspects of community sites, so why not create together?

Some guiding questions.

- What do you think of the idea as a whole?

- What fetishes/causes/characters would you want to see?

- Any ideas for locations/plots/characters.

- Thoughts on how to make the idea work.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd like to see what everyone else things before I start considering ideas for it though.

It's an idea, and ideas can grow. But the more ideas we have together the more they may blend and evolve into something ever bigger!

So, what kind of fetishes or points do you think could be fun?

Well obviously for fetishes it should focus on every possible permutation of inflation, so as to cater to the entire community. Beyond that, I'm personally fond of bondage and latex. I think the framework of the setting should revolve around inflation, and people can introduce additional fetishes as they see fit in their own contributions. Ideally the thing should be modular enough that people can enjoy it without getting involved in things that bother them.

Darth-clone started up something like this a few years ago.  Search this site for Pneumatica City.  It petered out after a year or so but it looks like there were about 15 stories written for it.  (I didn't read any of them; the project's superhero emphasis and advertised cartoony atmosphere wasn't interesting to me.)

Just my opinion, but not all of the growth fetishes (e.g. giantess/amazon, muscle growth, possibly WG) fall within the scope of this site unless they are tied in with breast/belly expansion.

I would participate in such a project if the framework and fetishes involved were appealing to me.  I do think, however, that when it comes to building a canon and taking it seriously, writers' stories or ideas should go through some approval process to protect the canon itself.  I don't know what that approval process would look like but I think it's necessary.  The people behind Star Wars and Star Trek let plenty of people write books, but those plot lines were never recognized as canon unless they were worked into a movie or TV episode.  By the same token, we shouldn't let any schmuck that can barely rub two words together take a swing at modifying our canon and possibly screwing up continuity.

Just my two cents.

Hmmm... good points. Lots of them. I haven't heard of Pneumatica City, perhaps I'll look it up.

And also a good point, they're of a similar group of fetishes but still very different. As well, having too many options could lose focus on establishing the setting, instead focusing on shoe-horning in fetishes.

Definitely, I'm still thinking about this rather than officially starting anything. Not just anything should be accepted, especially if it includes elements that redefine the setting. Off the top of my head... I guess I'd say that almost any story could be accepted; but can't limit or break the rules. Which need some more consideration.

Okay, now something more personal. Which fetishes would help make this appealing to you? What do you mean by framework? Brick by brick the core could become stronger!

Which fetishes would help make this appealing to you?

Well, for me personally I'm only here for the body inflation and no other individual fetishes (BE, belly, etc.).  If you ask 10 other people even on just this site you are probably going to get 10 different answers.

What do you mean by framework?

I don't really mean anything specific, just the universe in which the series is set, the rules for that universe that govern what is possible/impossible, and how the characters can and do interact with each other and the world around them.

Were there actually 15 stories?! lol If so, thats new to me :p

The problem with this kind of idea is that you kinda have to lead by example, something I failed miserably to do. Also, you need to talk to a core group of people who want to be involved. I probably made the mistake of just throwing it out there instead of talking to people I knew could be interested. My next big stories are gonna be set on that universe, so if anyone here is interested in superhero inflation I am going to comeback to Pneumatica very soon!

At the end of the day this kind of "shared universe" idea is appealing, but there has to be a core that is interesting in itself for it to work. If there isn't, then it would read as something that one person could have done, and the whole "shared" aspect becomes meaningless. Thats one of the reasons why its probably better to talk directly to writers instead of throwing it out there, since it will probably get sucked up by all the other stuff posted here.

Hm. Very good point.

A core concept is so much more than a generic "fetish" world idea. Hmm... I guess this part needs more brainstorming. Shrinking the overall idea down a bit more to at least a specific area or setting or even fetish to then evolve naturally from that. Instead of thinking of it as constraining, it's more guiding than I initially thought.

Lead by example eh? That's a good idea! I hope that I can write well enough to capture my ideas. Practice, practice, practice!!!

The primary reason I've started just by throwing this out there is because I'm a long time lurker deciding to attempt something I haven't seen done before. Possibly biting off more than I can chew in the process. But I love a challenge. Since I've lurked, I don't really know any writers personally or have the confidence to just ask. I guess that throwing the idea out there, I'm sort of hoping to get to know some people and maybe start a mini-writer's group from that. We'll see! I'll do my best!

All the writers are just people too.  They try to squeeze into their pants one inflated leg at a time.
