Optical illusion inflation clothing

I can't post it from here but i've occasionally seen a screenshot floating about of a woman wearing a top with blobs on it which make her breasts look bigger because the blobs concerned are spaced and sized correctly over them. This got me to thinking that it would be possible to print T-shirts and so forth on a T-shirt printing site to do the same thing for the belly, the whole body and the belly and breasts. I've been experimenting with this and have come up with these rough ideas:

(Hope that works - had to type it in).

I realise these are asymmetrical and quite poorly executed, but it occurs to me that this is a new way of simulating inflation which hasn't been much explored, and which could be done quite cheaply. In fact, it could
even be done with those inkjet transfer sheets you can get.

I will probably do this myself when i get the chance. Any comments on improvements? Does the checkerboard design work less well than the blobs for example? Would the full body version be better if it were more oblong?

BTW, there's a printable bump band on spreadshirt.

I think any "pre-distorted" pattern would work. In fact, I made such a comment to a friend before seeing that shot from THE NANNY. (Fran Drescher wore all kinds of wild clothes in that show.) This friend is athletic and slender and was always griping that her breasts are too small. I thought they were perfect for the rest of her frame, but quipped, "Why not buy a shirt with some pre-stretched stripes?"

The placement of "blobs" is not critical. All you need is any regular pattern, then distort the pattern to suggest or enhance shape.

Yes, that's what i had in mind, thanks.  To my mind, the problem seems to be positioning but the general approach is OK.  You could also do hourglass exaggeration with it, come to think of it.
