I hate to sound contrary, but the best method depends on the result desired. I must say I don't like weight gain. It's too permanent, and too possible.
To be able to achieve any end, I'd have to say magic would be my choice. Although helium/gas would be my second choice because of it's lighter than air properties.
Water/Liquids are fine for more terrestrial or aquatic adventures tho.

Helium. I dont like any other frankly, though Ive made a few exceptions. Theres not a big explanation on it, its just that the others just dont do anything for me. I dont care about Willy Wonka, water is too much about weight and sagging, and magic is just trying to rationalize the whole thing. Of course, I dont mind magic, but I prefer stories where they just use air.

Well this comes to prove that helium is the ultimate inflation type :D Don't worry dell, I like water inflation too. It is my utmost favourite type of inflation, but not where they make the victim's body sag. So I'll write stories in order of the most popular :D Thanks guys. This has really helped me.
Well, after my last story requested by several fans of a floating away victim, I'd like to carry on my writing work just for you lot, and so I'm going to investigate the most popular type of inflation. Water? Air? Weight Gain? Magic? The vote is up to you :)
