How do you like to Inflate? What's your Technique?

I would love to exchange techniques for inflating to see if we can learn anything from each other at all. So to get the ball rolling here is how I inflate myself when I’m alone.

The hardest aspect I found with inflation is how to get a tight seal after I finish inflating, and by that I mean a seal that does not come undone when I lie on the inflated balloon. I used to use rubber bands but they were hard to use and sometimes the seal would leak. The air compressor I have has an attachment for pumping a bike tube (same as care tire connection. I cut up an old bike tube and cut out the valve from it. I cut around it about 3-4cm so that some of the rubber was left around the base of the valve. I then got 2 plastic bottle caps (around 3cm in diameter) and cut a hole the diameter of the valve in both. I then used glue to stick the valve’s rubber sheath to one flat side of the bottle cap and then stick the other flat bottle cap side to the other side of the rubber sheath. After it dries, you then just slip it into the mouth of the balloon and you have a nice tight seal around the bottle cap edges. I usually fix this into place with rubber bands.

I like to use a weather balloon. They are big but do tent to break if I lie on them while inflated. There are a number of web sites that sell these balloons. What do you use? Are there any other types of balloons that would take my weight on them without bursting?

I find it hard to get a nice even inflation as all I’m doing is to shove the balloon down the front of my superman suit. I would like to get a nice even all bond round inflation. Does any have any suggestions? I know I could spend lots of money on an inflatable suit off the web but I don’t have that much money to spare.

I also like to use a spandex suit to inflate but I’m finding that even that can only stretch so far. But for me it’s the look and feel of spandex that I like so I will probably just get a bigger suit to inflate in.

Anyway, take care of yourself and keep inflating.

1) Put on inflatable catsuit
2) Inflate catsuit using electric pump
3) Enjoy ;)

:D

I used to stuff a giant beachball down my clothes and use that.

An excellent question and one that I've wasted a lot of time tinkering up answers to at home. Gotta 'essay' on the subject around here somewhere that I'll try to dig up and post after work.

Me too. Well, only a little one we had. And now I have to do it with trashbags or normal balloons. Oh well, someday...:)

well for me i use basics, i inflate an inflatable matress under my clothes. i don't use a pump, i use lung power :) after i have got as big as i can i screw on the valve (if thts what you call it on an air bed :S ) cap. it can suport my body weight just fine.

I use a hose from a removable showerhead. When you want to seal it off, just kink it and rubber band it. When you want to blow into it again (or hook it up to a pump), just unkink it and go.

As for balloons, I have bought from these people: http://www.razmatazcelebrations.com/ They have a deal for 20 three foot balloons for about $60 American after shipping. They are extremely strong and stand up to a heck of a beating. I can usually reuse them several times unless I severely overinflate them.

TrashbagInflator

Mines relatively simple:

1. Insert trash bag under my shirt
2. Stick hand pump into the bag
3. Inflate :D

I use Hefty trash bags and they support my weight just fine, they actually do take an effort to pop them.

same

i'm really short so the big hefty bags are much bigger for me, A also like the pressure against my "special Toy"

It's approaching 13 years since they posted, I'm not sure if they'll get the response.

I just use that 2mil thick painters plastic and duct tape and just make whatever out of it. One time I made a double layered suit as big as a room, and it was thick enough to hold my weight. Of course you can't really use a hand pump for that so I use one of those small hand vacuums that can be reversed to blow air out, the force on those is way more than enough. If you make the suit right it can actually lift you off the floor.

LittlePumpkin

That sounds pretty cool! Can you explain how you make it? Can anyone make it?

Gl0bSl0b

Yea, anyone can make it, its just time consuming and can be dangerous if you make it too big.

What I do is go to home depot and buy 4 of those 9'x12' 2mil painters plastic sheets for like $3/each and a GIANT roll of the highest strength gray duct tape. Then you lay the 4 sheets one on top of the other and get a marker and draw how you want the shape to be(so if you're making a suit just draw a giant suit out). Then get some scissors and cut out the shape. Then you have to get the duct tape(here's the time consuming part) and lay out two sheets, one on top of the other. Now you have to fold the edge of one sheet over the other sheet and start taping all the way around the perimeter of the shape like this. Make sure you leave an opening though. If you're making a suit don't tape the arm, leg, or neck openings, and make sure the neck opening is big enough to get into the suit with. Make sure you press down on all the duct tape after to make sure its stuck on. So the two shapes should make an envelope after you're done. Then get the other two sheets and do the same to those. So you should have two envelops that look like a giant suit.
Now you have to get one of the envelops and turn it inside out so the duct tape is on the inside(which is one reason why you leave an opening while you're duct taping it). This one will be the outside envelope(you want the duct tape to be on the inside of the outside envelope, its much stronger this way).
Get the envelope that has the duct tape on the outside of it and pull it inside of the other envelope(the one with the duct tape on the inside) so you should have a double layered suit now.
Here comes the tricky part. You have to tape all the openings between the two envelops together. Make sure you leave a small opening for whatever you use to inflate it though. So get the two envelops and lay the outside envelope sheets on top of the inside envelope sheets and start taping around all of the openings so that the outside envelope is attached to the inside envelope. Make sure you press down hard on all the duct tape to make sure its stuck on there.
Now after all that you have your double layered inflatable shape for about $15.

Some warnings though, if you make a giant suit make sure you can reach the inflater at all times to turn it off. I'm not even joking, if you use a powerful inflater it can pick you up off the floor and if you can't turn it off you'll be stuck there(yes, its happened)...

It takes a while to make the first one but I've gotten it down to making one in about an hour and a half to two hours.

Or for the lucky ones with a lover/friend with the same interests: Let them handle the inflater.

LittlePumpkin

Well, I'm lucky enough to have someone who wants to do it for me. I'm going to try it...sometime...if I understand and translate it ... :)

Hi Gl0bSl0b
Thanks so much for your detailed guide. Its brilliant! How much does the painters plastic sheet stretch? 100% or maybe 200% size?

If you're talking about stretching when inflating, it depends on the thickness you use. With 2 mil it will stretch maybe 50% depending on the high stress points, if you're over inflating it.

Bloated girl lover

For air I like putting a tube up my ass. With an attachment to keep the air in but I can get it in. Then I blow in the tube. It does go in but I don't get big. With water I take off the head from the shower put the hose in and turn it on low pressure. I got so big I had stretch marks. It didn't hurt though. it felt like heaven.

I Love To Inflate

I use baggy clothes and inflatables which I inflate by mouth until I’m nice and big can’t move

I start with the biggest tights/pantyhose I can fins on amazon, and take a pucnhing balloon from Dollar Tree, and then I took about 2ft of clear 1/2in tubeing, and I secure the balloon to that with duck tape. With the balloon at my front, I run the tube back between my legs and up and out the back of the tights. Next is a step down adapter for 1/4in aquarium tubeing ran to an aquarium pump. I don't put my weight on the balloon, but, when I fear the balloon has reached max inflation, I simply unplug the pump and it seems to hold nicely.
