Don't know if anyone here has caught the trailer for Epic Movie yet, but the movie features one of the main characters dressed as Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(with Crispen Glover as the Johnny Depp Wonka). No hints at inflation, but these movies are cheesy enough to throw in such an obvious gag. Let's hope.

Lets not get our hopes up yet guys.
Yes the movie does indeed look like a very shameless poorly written quick cash in on recent big hollywood movies, but the fact that the red-haired chick (dont know her name) who dressed like Violet is certaintly an interesting factor.
I just hope that they take this whole charlie and the chocolate factory parady a little further than just besides "no thats septic tank river" thing. I mean they went this far as to have all the actors dress up like the characters in the movie, so they might as well have all of thier proper "endings" from chocolate factory movie lampooned. At least they better.
Lets just not get out hopes up yet guys.

Date Movie was absolute torture. Not a single laugh- except for that "after laugh." You know, when you laugh 10 seconds after the joke, because you suddenly realize that the writers actually thought you would laugh at that. Date Movie was misery. Judging from the commercial, this one is equally as poor. They can't just tell a joke; they gotta rub it in your face for a full minute.
Inflation scene or not- they are NOT getting my money for this movie(unless, by some absurd miracle, it somehow manages to be good).

Yea I agree. These stupid writers and producers are in fact really pushing this whole "parady" thing too far. I never saw Date Movie but I sure did hear a ton of bad stuff about it. I personally think that these movies started going downhill after Scary Movie 2.

I've never seen any of the films in question.
But she IS wearing Violet's outfit in the trailer, and they ARE known to go for the obvious jokes in this flicks.
If nothing else, that's what's making me a little more interested than usual, because usual is none at all. :)

EXACTLY! They cant just tell the joke, they just stretch it endlessly and one wonders..."ok, so you are making fun of it. Start making fun of it already!" And some jokes are lame. The tri-pod joke in scary movie was so stupid and lame. Oh, in WOTW the machines are tripods, it kinda sounds like ipod...oh, please! Most people dont even get the WOTW things are tripods right off the bat, i think. Which makes the joke a little too condescending. But also, I ask: why is it supposed to be funny? If its a crack at the ipod culture, still dont get it.

Yea I know right! I remember when I saw that, I thought that was the most poorly written thing ever. I mean scary movie 3+4 were just stupid pathatic sequels that made fun of other big budget movies instead of just other "scary" movies.
Thats what caused the downfall of the scary movie series in my opionion, they just really started to suck after Scary Movie 2.
Date Movie (Im surprised they even passed it off as a movie) just looked really really stupid and looked like they wrote and made the whole damn movie in like 3 weeks. Now unsurprisinly, there making Epic Movie which looks so ridiculessy stupid and very poorly written, I mean in the trailer, there was NOTHING original, I mean all the scenes in it were STRAIGHT clones from the other movies, not a single bit of originalty, I wouldnt be surprised if the stupid writers/producers of epic movie were sued from the other movie companies.

Actually, I went to see this with my friends. It was decent enough, I suppose, but no blueberry, which made me a saaaaaad panda ;_; There is, however, a scene in which the character parodying Mystique from X-men fattens herself up, but I didn't care for it too much.

I never saw Scary Movie 3, but I do remember the commercial.
The giant killer iPod playing 80's music ('Karma Chameleon' I think) and the huddled crowd looked at each other with smiles on their faces. Thent he iPod scrolls to 'Destroy Humanity' and the crowd, in unison, drop their smiles.
I thought it was funny. Not killer funny, but ok funny. Is it worth seeing the rest of it, for free from a library at least?

Yeah. Not worth seeing. I didn't have to pay to see it and I still feel cheated. The Mystique expansion is minor and pretty boring. The willy wonka scenes have little to nothing to do with the original movie... oh well.

I'm not much of a fan of the Scary Movies and it's sequels and spinoffs, and it sounds like the expansion in this one was kinda iffy.
The only genuine laugh I got out of any of them was in, I think it was number Three one of the characters suddenly "Reloaded" a shovel he was weilding and it ejected shotgun shells. Teriffic joke, but I just didn't like the movie.

I saw it.......it was pretty funny.
Theres no inflation but theres a pregnant scene. hermionie from harry potter is pregnant and shes smoking.
Her belly is quite big though...... :lol:
I am very excited for this movie, for inflation and other fetish-based reasons.
