Rate a random expansion scene in media you've seen out of 10!

This is more of a personal opinions thread of course, but basically think of the any scene you've seen in the movies, tv, etc as long as it is a form of media. Then, rate it out of 10 with a short blurb on why it is good, ok, or bad.

Feel free to choose a scene that someone else has chosen before. Maybe if a scene is chosen more than once by someone (probably inevitable for Violet) then maybe I can edit this post to include an average score for each scene (any scene having more than 2 votes so that ratings aren't toi skewed by a single number)

Ok sorry, done babbling, I'll start with a scene I saw on Dawn of the Croods on Netflix. I had a gut feeling there was expansion hidden in it, so I fast forwarded through random episodes. I didn't expect to find one after a bunch of episode searches but lo and behold I did:

Season 1, episode 8 "Mom Genes"

Basically the mom hunts so much food, the family gets stuffed with big round bellies. I ignored the giant male and the granny and little baby girl, but what made me pleasantly pleased with this scene was with the daughter, Eep. She gets a nice close-up on her belly that makes her look almost pregnant. Also, while everyone else loses their balloon belly a few seconds later, Eep keeps hers for one more shot while sitting down.

It's your standard balloon belly scene. Pretty average. What gives it a slightly higher score than usually is Eep's character design which is really cute (probably the biggest reason why i made my search for an expansion scene with her in it). Dialogue is standard stuff, and i did like the 5 more seconds of spotlight and the close-up Eep got with her belly.

Overall, 7/10. Solid.

Now if this idea doesn't die, someone post a random scene of their choice. Tell us why this scene did well or failed in your personal opinion.

The only one I can think of is the one from the end of the Source music video.

so uh

Fever The Ghost - Source music video (animated by Felix Colgrave)

There are a bunch of funky alien dancer things, they all merge together into big aliens, which merge into bigger aliens, which merge into a giant fucking balloon thing that explodes into confetti.
All to the beat of the song, Of course.

so uh, I rate it a Drug Trip/10. It's.. Felix Colgrave, Everybody.

Nutbreaker, two scenes

In the middle of cartoon Rat Queen - an hourglass with wasp waist in medieval dress - makes all nobility in dancing hall cower and fear. The king runs downstairs into storage champber for salt and pepper. Then he returns upstairs and climbs on Rat Queen's shoulders from behind while she makes intimidating magic passes. He salts and peppers Rat Queen from above. Rat Queen huffs and puffs in attempts to sneeze into a huge zeppelin, like PneumaticChick stated it, beyond the limits of elasticity - until she bursts herself in a spectacular firework engulfing entire dancing hall in bursting cloud.

Most of all, it's a funny contrast - a big bad magic Rat Queen who's overwhelmingly more powerful than anyone else in the hall willingly stretches herself so thin that she pops into nothingness. The bang is huge! The big, bad BANG! Only why nobody pops after sniffing this cloud? Inflation was all right for a kids cartoon but I'd appreciate if Rat Queen would look more feminine.

Inflation - 5 out of 10 due to lack of feminity, popping - 10 out of 10, cloud - 5 out of 10, all in all -

7 out of 10

Closer to the end of cartoon entire army of rats pops. I really enjoy the blank wide-eyed look of surprise when they inflate. There's everything in it - dumbifying shock, wildest surprise, confusion, terror and utter helplessness. And how they struggle to sneeze no matter what even it will pop them. And their curiosity how they gather around yet another inflating rat, how they examine her in surprise as she inflates, and then duck in fear when she pops, how they are curious to sniff a bursting cloud.

There's your contagious inflation, again I wish they would look more feminine, you can't even tell if they are boys or girls.

Inflation, popping, cloud 10 out of 10, rats 5 out of 10, all in all -

9 out of 10

best inflation I have seen was Chaulkzone: The Big Blow Up, I mean come on a desease that causes inflation that alone is pure genius 10/10

The so-called "Counting-out game for three" ("Считалка для троих") russian doll animation cartoon, a melancholic interpratation of the fairytale "The Straw, the Coal, and the Bean", where the Bean is some kind of wineskin/medieval balloon.

Being a Grimm's tale, all the main characters die in horrible, yet ironic ways. The Straw and the Coal die as in the original, and "the Bean" is shocked. It sort of cries silently, breathing in occasional gasps. At one point it starts to sob quicker and puffs up, until it suddenly pops.

I don't know what is it in this scene for me, but I think this is what got me into more tragic bursting stories. It's only few seconds long, and the Beans gender is ambiguous, but in the context of the whole story and with the build up, it just sticked to me.

I'll give it 8/10.
