Well I don't think it would make much difference except that I'm a snow leopard. XD I think the fur makes an inflated body more snuggable. ^_^

Depends on the person really: Some people use private messages here, some use chat clients. A good way to start would be poking about through people on the Roleplaying forum, or dropping private messages through here to start conversations and see where it goes!

The private messages are a good way to start looking. Just find someone you're intested in, send them a pm asking if they'd be interested, and if they are just organize from there. Some people prefer to remain on here, others might want to exchange emails or IM names.
If it's the topic that you're shy about, just look around the site for a while and get to know a few things about what you're interested in. Take the time to know what you want, and at least half of the trouble is gone. The other half is knowing what your rp partner is into, and for that you're just going to have to get to know them a little.
Don't worry, though. I know it's hard being shy, but really all you have to do around here is ask when something or someone strikes your interest. The worst that can happen is they say no thanks, and/or ignore you.
