Parachute skirt?

Does anyone else like the idea of a girl's dress puffing up like a parachute to slow her fall, a la Disney's Alice in Wonderland? It's technically clothing inflation, since her skirt is filling with air.

LittlePumpkin

only if it stays puffy :)

Of course!

Yea that's a nice one. :)

I have a similar, but not exactly the same, infation interest. In the Mickey Mouse short, "Plane Crazy" (one of his early b&w ones) Minnie falls from a plane, and as she's falling her panties inflate real huge like a parachute (and her suspenders are like the strings) as she floats back down to the ground.

Man-there's gotta be some more of that!

I've been working on a story idea or commission concept involving a woman wearing an ankle-length long-sleeved dress, which inflates to the point that her arms are held straight outward by the sleeves, and the skirt holds her feet off the ground. I imagined a pump or air tank as the cause of inflation, but you've introduced an interesting method: the woman wearing the dress falls from a great height, is saved by the parachute effect, but after she lands discovers that the air has become trapped in her skirt, and she can't move enough to release it.

I can not get enough of this kind of inflation. Its so rare though.

Let me ask you something TB (and anyone that wants to answer)

Of the rare Skirtachute appearances, which is your favorite?

I'm mean.

I have to pick Alice's, mostly because it's the only one with any real detail.

There's a scene in the 1994 show "Bump in the Night" where the character Molly falls (I think from a plane) and her skirt gets inflated.

In the NES game Super Mario Bros 2 you can play as Princess Toadstool(Peach) and one of her moves is foathing in the air using her dress skirt. The skirt isn't shown inflated when you float, but I love the feeling anyways.

Here's where it came from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvuUKYu1og8 Starts at 2:32

I'm going with Miyuki chan, its short I know but still awesome. I looped it in a animated gif so its like it lasts forever...

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has such a scene also. (You can always trust Ian Fleming.)
Very Happy The Baroness sits in the ejector seat, and then floats down this way (until the Baron shoots her). So technically there's popping too.

Somewhere about the hard drives I've got a half done story on an inflatable wedding dress with similar effects. Not really a drift down scenario, but....

Guess we all consider like things, on occasion!

Sounds like everybody's noting how rare it is, but nobody's actually working on material to fill the gap.

I say...now's the time! :) Take those half-done ideas and get 'em fully done.

Drybonesx

Actually I have done several drawings on this subject. Only shown one it was of Peach. (I wonder if anyone saved it...) Sadly I tossed them all out.

As a matter of fact, I did.

Drybonesx

I have mixed feelings about that picture...

I know, but beggars can't be choosers. I still think it's cute. Perhaps we could take Inflate123's suggestion and get some of those ideas fully done...anyone? Fully done? Ideas?

Drybonesx

I'm happy for that atleast. I could try to draw some stuff I have gotten a bit better.

Okay...if there's still any interest, here's a couple blink-and-you'll-miss-it scenes I found on YouTube, with the precise times they happen.

Obscure Russian cartoon (O:55)
Gakuen Alice opening (1:17)

It's not a bad start. Use it as a jumping-off point.

No pun intended.

Hope I'm not running this into the ground...

Found another Alice illustration.

Let me just say, I was ecstatic to find this post on the internet. I first saw the "Falling Down the Rabbit Hole" scene in Disney's AIW and played Super Mario Bros. 2 a lot as a kid. (As Toadstool of course, haha) I have been intrigued with the "parachute skirt" phenomenon ever since. I have done a lot of research and have never found anyone who shares the same fascination until now. Hell, I have even asked sex experts if there is a meaning behind it. Anyway, I just wanted to say that it is really great to find others who share your thoughts, no matter how unusual.

Dexy

Well AMEN to that! I'll never forget the first time I sat down in front of a computer that was hooked up to this new thing called the internet and nervously typed the words "body inflation" into some now extinct search engine like Excite or Lycos, only to find an early version of Inflate 123's page pop up, as well as the Wren Spot and a few other gems. It's hard to believe that for almost 25 years I thought I was the only guy on earth with this fetish... so good for you!

Fukureruba

There's a really great parachute skirt scene in the Popeye cartoon "Caveman caper" (1960). I remember that one very well.

Whew, I thought this thread had petered out!

Hate to bump, but I found another one:

I have a favor: Could anyone get Zelda and Peach parachuting their dresses in Garry's Mod? I don't own it.
